The Long Ride

This past Sunday turned into a rather long ride for me and Pharon. After riding with Jemal and Christina to get bagels we continued down the beach path and found ourselves at the end of the path in Redondo before we knew it. It was a great day for a ride, even thought it started out around 40 degrees. Our pace was easy and we took lots of stops but we still made it back to Santa Monica by about noon. GREAT RIDE!

Sunday the 16th

Hows it goin everybody? Well, today we took a cruise from the shop up to Noahs on San Vicente. I was joined by my partner Robin, Pharon, James, Jemal, Christina, and Matt (Christine's friend). It was a bit warmer today, but by no means warm. Friday's toy ride didn't happen for use because Robin and I were the only ones to show up at the store and would have been riding around downtown Los Angeles, after midnight, alone. So... we decided that might not be the best idea. But I am planning to get another night kind of ride figured out for us all to do, probably with Midnight Ridazz. So, keep your eyes peeled for that one!!! Plus, I am thinking of a Wednesday morning training ride. One that is at least 20 miles. Until next time.

Two Rides this week

This week I have two rides planned. Tomorrow night, Friday, there is an all city toy ride happening. We will be leaving from the store at 7PM and heading for Venice, then Culver, and then ultimately downtown to Olvera street and the awaiting party. I am hoping this ride turns out big and fun, cause it could be awesome!!
Also, we will be riding on Sunday again, at 7AM. This time we'll cruise from the shop up San Vicente to the Noahs. freezing but fun!!!

Let me know if you have any questions about these rides.

Holy Cold

Today we left the shop at 7AM and it was freezing. I was joined by Christina, Jamal, and Jaron. We rode down the beach to Noahs in the Marina, where Jaron took off cause he was still cold and the rest of us had bagels and warm drinks before heading back towards the shop. It was COLD the whole way but we had a great time and I can't wait for next weekend's group. Jamal has taken on the role as spokesperson for the rides and will be talking about them, I hope, as often as possible. But, the best part of today was the amazing sunrise, and Jamal's performance while riding down the beach.

Check out the pics and video below and make sure the speakers are turned on.

December Second

Today we had a great ride from the shop up San Vicente and to Noah's bagels. I was joined by my partner Robin, Robin's mom Gaye, and Jaron. We had a very mellow cruise up San Vicente to Montana where Jaron broke off to catch the Sea Hawks game. At Noahs we met Kelsey and her boyfriend Matt who couldn't make the ride cause Matt was flying out this morning, but wanted to grab some bagels with us all. It was a great ride with sun shining the whole time, but you'll just have to take my word for it because I forgot to take any pictures. For those of you who missed it, come on out next week. Same time, same cruisy style, different route.

The me, myself, and I ride - 11.25.07

Well, nobody showed up today. So... what else is there to do when there are less people participating? Add more miles, thats what. Since I was alone I decided to take a longer cruise and see where I ended up. Well, I ended up in Manhattan Beach before I decided to turn around and I had a great time. I guess moving the time back didn't offset the fact that it was right after Thanksgiving. Anyway I will be there at the same time as today (8 and leave by 8:30)next weekend, 12/2, so be there or be square.

Sunday's ride re-cap

Great ride today! Not much else to say except come on out next week cause it's a blast. I am changing it so that we leave at 8:30AM in the hopes more people can wake up for it! For those of you that missed it, here's a video so that you can feel like you were there. Maybe you should put your helmets on to watch though?

Sunday 11/18

We are riding from the shop at 7:30 AM this Sunday the 18th. I will be there at 7. I hope that we can get a bunch of people together for this. We will follow the green line on the map posted below, plus probably some extra depending on time. Don't forget money for bagels and helmets for heads!

Also, anyone with ideas for other rides in the area or a ride they would like to lead, either comment here, tell me at work, or shoot me an email!

This is the route we took today, in green. The other route is a ride I would like to start for those of us that want a bit more of a challenge.

First Ride - Sunday 11/11/07

Today we went on our first ride as a group and it was a major success. We had a total of 7 people participate. Myself, Pharon, Steve, Alex, Peg, Maguette, and James all rode from the store down the beach path to Washington Blvd. for some coffee and bagels at Noah's before heading back to the store to meet Matt Hyde from REI corporate. This is definitely going to be a weekly thing and I cannot wait to see where we can take it from here.
